ENG 3230 Restoration and the Eighteenth Century

A study devoted primarily to satire and criticism, concentrating on Dryden, Swift, Pope and Johnson, but including the drama of Congreve and Sheridan, with some attention to the rise of the periodical essay. (Literary period course.)
