THA 1240 Voice and Speech I
(formerly THA 124; COM 125; formerly Voice and Diction for Acting)
An introduction to foundational techniques of voice and speech production for actors. Topics covered in voice production will include alignment, relaxation, breath support and supply, phonation, resonance, and range. Students will also be introduced to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and practice skills of articulation to achieve maximum intelligibility in performance.
