NUR 5386 Foundations and Principles of Simulation-Based Education

The course examines various theories and principles related to simulation-based education (SBE) which will serve as a foundation for the provision of alternative teaching and learning modalities in nursing education. The focus of this course relies on the ethical principles, evidence base practica standards and criterion needed to provide simulation-based education within the context of both academic and practica settings. The components of assessment will be discussed and applied in relation to individual and institution- wide needs. Learner focus will be on the stimulation design, modalities, operations, facilitation, pre-briefing, and debriefing and simulation-enhanced interprofessional education.
