BIO 3480 Advanced Human Anatomy

The curriculum for this biology major's course is designed to build the groundwork for advanced classes in professional school. The course starts off with histology and the study of tissue level, includes a quick workshop on bones and muscles, before delving into nerves and blood vessels and the systems of the body. Imaging techniques including CT scans and x-ray radiography are used to introduce the student to the physician's perspective. Body structure will be studied by organ systems and will involve a balance between gross anatomical study and histology. Form-function relationships will be emphasized. Three lecture hours per week.
