The Mental Health and Wellness Center (MHWC):

In 2019, the CMHC department opened the Mental Health and Wellness Center (MHWC), an onsite training clinic serving the community. The MHWC has become one of our sought-after training sites due to its opportunity for live supervision and remote therapy training. The MHWC serves the community members of Rockville Centre and surrounding areas, providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality mental health services. Services offered include individual counseling for all ages, as well as group, couples, and family counseling. Both in-person and tele-mental health services are available. Services are provided by students in their clinical portion (third year) of the program under the direct supervision of highly trained and New York State licensed mental health professionals. The Center’s new state-of-the-art supervision system assists in ensuring for the comfort and privacy of the clients. In addition to traditional clinical services, the Center offers workshops on wellness topics, including anxiety and self-care. The Center collaborates with several school districts, libraries and agencies and offers workshops for teachers, parents, students and other community members with the resources, skills and support that they need.
