HIS 2320 Modern China

A study of China in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Topics include, the Western Powers in China, the revolutionary forces that brought the Empire to an end, and the modern period under the People's Republic of China. This course will examine the impact of geography on China's economic and political development in modern society.
