Graduate Assistantship Program

The Graduate Assistantship Program provides opportunities for qualified graduate students to participate as graduate assistants, research assistants, or teaching assistants (the latter of which is for doctoral students only.) To apply for an assistantship, candidates should complete the Application for Graduate Assistantship available on the Office of Research, Scholarship, and Graduate Studies' webpage where open positions are listed. Applications must include a resume, two references, and approval by the department in which the student is enrolled.

Each applicant must be enrolled for a minimum of (6) six credits during each of the semesters (with the exception of teaching assistants (3) three credits) in which the student serves as a graduate assistant and must not be receiving any other source of financial aid. Graduate assistants/research assistants/ teaching assistants work 10 hours per week (or 150 hours per semester) during a semester and earn a 3-credit voucher and a $500 stipend. A maximum number of four assistantship semesters are allowed per student.
