Alpha Mu Gamma
The Beta Theta Chapter of Alpha Mu Gamma, the National Foreign Language Honor Society of the United States, has as its primary purpose the honoring of students for outstanding achievement in foreign language study at the university level. This Honor Society promotes appreciation for languages and fosters the understanding of other cultures. Among the activities it organizes, it has the responsibility to sponsor National Foreign Language Week, proclaimed by the Presidents of the United States since 1957.
To join, students must have taken at least three foreign language courses (the three courses have to be of the same language) and received two grades of A and one of B or higher in them. At least two of these courses must have been taken at the Molloy campus. Also, students must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above, and a partial GPA of at least 3.3 in all foreign language courses taken.
