Progression through Business School Programs

Progression

To progress in an MBA Program, students must:

•   Complete all required prerequisites and coursework, including the capstone course.

•   Achieve a 3.0 overall cumulative graduate GPA to qualify for graduation.

Students may complete the program in as little as one year or as long as five years. An extension may be granted with permission of the Graduate Business Program Director, Associate Dean, or Dean.

Grading Policy and Repeated Courses

A grade of "B-" is the lowest grade acceptable toward degree requirements in the School of Business programs of study.

•   A course in which the student receives a grade below “B-” may be repeated once.

•   Students may repeat a maximum of two courses, once each.

•   Students not earning a "B-" for a repeated course are subject to dismissal from the program.

•   Three grades below a "B-" will result in dismissal from the program.

Expectations Related to Graduation

Students are expected to:

  • Meet at least once with the Business Career Coordinator.
  • Submit an updated résumé to the MBA Administrator.
  • Submit an Application for Graduation prior to the deadline of the semester in which they intend to complete all graduation requirements.
  • Attend applicable events and ceremonies, such as Class Night, Honors Convocation, and Commencement.
  • Complete the graduate Exit Survey.

Note: The School of Business reserves the right to make necessary changes in programs and courses in response to regulations received from the New York State Education Department and/or New York State Office of the Professions. These changes become effective according to dates specified by New York State. Students are responsible for meeting all program requirements.
