Communications

The Communications Department offers a B.A. in Communications, with a concentration in either Television Production and Cinema Studies or Public Relations and Corporate Communications.  There is also a B.S. in New Media and New Media with Game Studies.

In collaboration with the Business Department, we offer a five-year program in B.A. Professional Communications and M.B.A. in Management or Marketing.

Related to Education, there are several tracks in Childhood Education: B.S.1-6/Early Childhood Birth-2, B.S. Communications/Special Education, B.S./M.S. Communications/Special Education, B.S./M.S. Communications/TESOL, and B.S./M.S. Communications/Educational Technology.

For the Communications elective courses, advisors assist students into courses relevant to the individual student's goals and career plans.

The Television Production and Cinema Studies concentration is designed for those who wish to pursue careers in television, film, online production, broadcast journalism, or those who plan on graduate studies in film and television studies, cultural studies, media production or media management.

The concentration in Public Relations and Corporate Communications is ideal for those interested in graduate study or careers in public relations, human resources, conflict resolution, events planning, management or administration in any industry or field and for the development of effective communication skills in any organizational or professional setting.

New Media with Game Studies is a dynamic degree that equips students with the skills to thrive in interactive media industries. This forward-thinking degree combines creativity technology, and critical thinking to help students navigate their ever-changing digital media landscape. It's ideal for students aiming to build careers in game design, interactive storytelling, or to further their education in related graduate programs.

Communications is an excellent area to consider for a double major or a major/minor combination. Almost any discipline makes a good match with Communications.
