CRJ 2820 Crime Analysis and Mapping

This course will examine the theory and practice of crime analysis. Crime analysis is the methodological analysis of data pertaining to crime and disorder in order to provide decision-making and investigative support to police and policy makers. This course will explore the theory that underlies crime analysis as well as the methods used in several types of analyses including tactical, strategic, administrative and intelligence analyses. The use of crime mapping as a method of crime analysis will be emphasized and demonstrated.
