Goals and Objectives of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program

The goal of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) is to use the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL; Boyer 1990; Friberg, Ginsberg, Cardinale-Dudding, Quach, & Smith-Olinde, 2014) model to graduate versatile academics who will constantly seek to advance the field of CSD through research and teaching, thereby fulfilling personal as well as professional needs of CSD. Students will be provided with diverse theoretical and hands-on experiences in both research and teaching for them to forge and independent and personal pathway in scientific and educational endeavors.
