Academic and Progression Requirements
All students entering Molloy University who are considering the B.F.A. in Studio Art or the B.S. in Visual Arts Education must submit a portfolio regardless of academic standing, to be placed in the proper sequence of courses based on skill level.
At the end of the sophomore year, art majors will submit a self-evaluation and portfolio for an Art Faculty review. Transfer students will submit their portfolio upon entry.
The Art Department reserves the right to choose, photograph and retain part of a student’s work from each studio course for exhibition or publication at the University.
All B.F.A. Art program students will be required to complete an internship, either on- or off-campus with a museum, gallery, graphic design studio or other arts organization. Internships provide valuable experiential learning outside of the classroom that enhances a student's education and opportunities for success.
