Doctor of Education Program

The Molloy University Educational Leadership for Diverse Learning Communities Doctoral Program in Education (Ed.D.)  is a comprehensive, rigorous and research-based program designed to prepare students for contemporary educational leadership roles in support of diverse environments. Molloy's program responds to the varied research interests of our doctoral students including leadership for social justice, culturally responsive pedagogies and special populations such as English language learners (ELLs), students with disabilities and other special needs or gifted populations. The culminating dissertation will be based upon a solid foundation of core courses and specialization in leadership and advocacy for diverse student populations. Students will participate in ongoing formal and informal opportunities, engaging with other cohort members and doctoral faculty in field-based research projects.

The Ed.D. program also includes its collaborative inquiry model using a multiple mentorship approach. Through this approach, students will be supported and guided through the intellectual challenges of each phase of the dissertation process. The program maintains membership in the Carnegie Project for the Education Doctorate consortium and works to integrate the values and guiding virtues of Molloy University with the mission and vision of CPED in evaluating and addressing the educational challenges of today.
