Graduation Applications and Approval

The graduation review process is triggered by submitting an online Application for Graduation by the deadlines below:

• Fall (December) Graduation – Apply by October 1st

• Intersession (January) Graduation – Apply by October 1st

• Spring (May) Graduation – Apply by February 1st

• Summer (August) Graduation – Apply by March 1st

Students missing the above deadlines should contact the Office of the Registrar (registrar@molloy.edu) to request a late application.

There is no fee for applying for graduation; however, if a student is applying to graduate in a term during which they are not registered for any coursework, they will be charged the standard enrollment fee.

It is the students’ responsibility to ensure that their academic records are in proper order and thoroughly review their plans of study. Students must complete all courses required for their programs by the degree conferral date, which is the last date of the term. Students who apply for graduation but do not fulfill all degree requirements by the conferral date will be removed from the graduation list and will need to reapply for graduation for the term in which the requirements will be met.

Student Affairs hosts the annual Commencement Ceremony for all graduating students. Other celebratory events are held throughout the year, such as pinning and hooding ceremonies and class nights. Information on participation costs may involve purchasing the cap and gown, photos, etc. will be distributed by Student Affairs. Attendance at Commencement is optional. Students and their families are not charged an attendance fee.
