EDU 6300 Educational Assessment of the Diverse Learner
The online assessment course explores foundational principles of educational assessment, measurement, and evaluation to meet the needs of diverse learners, including ELLs, SWDs, and other at-risk groups. Topics include assessment alignment with educational standards, reliability and validity, legal and ethical considerations, test construction, grading, scoring, and rubric development. The course also addresses data-driven decision-making, data management, and the use of computer-based adaptive tools at the individual, classroom, and school-wide levels. Current issues in assessment and accountability, including relevant legislation, teacher evaluation, and leveraging AI for assessment, will be critically examined.
