Program Learning Outcomes

  • Write and orally communication proficiently. Students will be effective communicators who actively listen to others musically and verbally.

Complete Piano Requirement (4 Credits)

All Music Therapy majors are required to take a minimum of four credits of piano coursework:

Students whose primary instrument is piano take MUS 1260 Applied Piano in place of MUS 1100 and MUS 1110, and/or MUS 2220 Piano Accompaniment in consultation with their advisor. All students (including pianists as primary) are required to take MUS 2230 and MUS 3150. (Students declaring piano as their primary instrument must enroll in MUS 1260 Applied Piano each semester for 7 consecutive semesters of their academic degree. Elective applied instruction may be pursued in consultation with the advisor to ensure all credit requirements are met in this category.)
