CSD 6140 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) in CSD: Theory to Practice
The field of CSD is one where basic research lends to applied research, and applied research can lead to change in clinical practice. Building theoretical foundations from findings of basic research can lead to accurate application of applied research in practice. While these guidelines are set up for best practices in the clinical field in CSD, academics often struggle with a) teaching how to connect theory and practice to students and b) disseminating research findings in a way that is accessible to clinicians in the field. This course will address these issues in teaching and mentoring in the field of CSD as well as the mechanism of disseminating of research findings to various audiences.
