NUR 5058 Education Assessment and Evaluation
This course will explore the principles and application of educational assessment, measurement and evaluation and their role in educational decision-making in nursing education. Characteristics of a valid, reliable measurement instrument, test construction and writing objective and constructed-response items, score interpretation, standardized testing, performance-based assessment and portfolios in education will be addressed. Emphasis is on the use of assessment data in grading and evaluating the effectiveness of instruction and programming and the issues of accountability in assessment in nursing education.
