NUR 5892 AGACNP: Adult Care Acute Practicum II

This course is designed to provide clinical experience in development and application of the roles of the acute care adult gerontology nurse practitioner. The clinical setting will be used for application and evaluation of nursing theory and pathophysiologic and psychosocial concepts in planning and developing care for culturally diverse adults and older adults in the surgical acute and critical settings (SICU, CTU, NSICU, Trauma center, surgical inpatient and extra). The student will practice in clinical settings for a total of 155 hours. Clinical practice activities are designed to develop advanced level direct care competencies. Clinical conferences will be held five times per semester and will focus on Pathophysiology, diagnoses and therapeutic management related to episodic/chronic problems in acute/critical surgical care in the adult-gerontology population. (Pass/Fail Practicum) Seminar and 155 clinical hours per semester.
