NUR 5883 AGACNP: Pathophysiology/Pharmacology/Therapeutics in Adult Care III

This course provides didactic content to prepare the Advanced Practice Nurse to provide acute care to adults, including older persons, experiencing acute, chronic and/or critical illness of the Dermatology, MSK, Immune/Hematology, psychology systems and end of life care. Students explore the dynamic between the pathophysiologic basis of disease and the psychosocial and socio-cultural responses to acute and critical illness and injury as they develop comprehensive diagnosis and management of acute/chronic health problems, including appropriate diagnostic procedures, laboratory tests and follow-up care for patients with both acute and chronic conditions. Didactic content professional, ethical and legal issues are also addressed.
