NUR 5054 Education Theory and Methods for Nursing Education

This course focuses on foundational concepts and skills for nursineducation that addresses innovative methods and effective use of technology for teaching nursing students and staff as well as hospital or community-based clients.  Emphasis is placed on implementation of methods to foster a spirit of inquiry in the adult learner and the application of electronic information and education resources in a variety of venues that include, the classroom, clinical, simulation and virtual and distance learning environments. Specific content areas include the application of teaching-learning theory, the use of technology and the arts in teaching, and current research in nursing education. Required for Graduate Nursing Education students. Elective for other graduate nursing students.
