NUR 5292 Historically Marginalized Populations: A Comprehensive and Analytical Approach to the Care of the Underserved

This course will facilitate in depth understanding of vulnerable populations. Targeted outreach, screening, diagnostic and treatment strategies will be explored and developed. Racism, poverty, homelessness, immigrants and refugees, victims of domestic violence, LQBT, and children at risk will be examined through the lens of the advanced level nurse. A population health framework will provide a focus on health equity and the roots and continued existence of health care disparities. Topics Elective
