NUR 5725 FNP/FPMHNP Advanced Physical Assessment: Pediatrics Focus

For Family Nurse Practitioner- Primary Care or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students who are changing programs from Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care and have taken NUR 572A, this course will focus on pediatrics and provide a systematic approach to the skills necessary for primary practice. Assessment skills include physical examination for pediatric clients with emphasis on completing an accurate history and physical. A supervised clinical field experience is required in which students acquire initial skills in assessment, decision-making and management of care. 6 lecture hours and 6 clinical/college laboratory hours per semester.
