EDU 5307 Adapting Technology for ELL and Culturally Diverse Students in Inclusive Classrooms

This course offers teachers and teacher candidates an opportunity to address the needs of ELL students in the culturally diverse classroom environment, as many ELL students struggle to assimilate to the new language, they need support. By providing foundational skills to address basic concepts in writing, speaking, and reading using technology based tools teacher candidates can address ELL’s struggles with a new learning dynamic to facilitate language learning. Teacher candidates will study various strategies, methods and tools that can facilitate language learning and how the introduction of digital technologies has changed the dynamic. The effective integration of technology to increase student achievement and how teachers and teacher candidates apply pedagogical theories to integrate technology will be emphasized. This course is offered for Professional Development. Advance Education Division Program approval needed to satisfy Education Technology Program degree requirements.
