EDU 5491 Pre-Student Teaching Adolescent/Special Education Field Experiences in Inclusive Classrooms (30 Hrs Content Area 7-12. 30 Hrs Special Ed, 6 Seminars)

The Pre-Student Teaching field experience must be completed the semester PRIOR to Student Teaching. This field experience will provide teacher candidates observations and supervised experiences in a classroom in the specific content area of adolescent/special education for which the teacher candidate is seeking initial duel certification. Teaching experiences in the content area normally taught in the adolescent/special classroom with diverse student populations will be provided as well as opportunities for a gradual increase in the teacher candidate’s responsibilities in the classroom. Adolescent/Special Education teacher candidates will be under the supervision of certified cooperating teachers, as well as a Molloy University Field Supervisor. Evaluations will be based on field performance. Successful completion of the Pre-Student Teaching experience is required before teacher candidates are permitted to student teach. A sixty hour field experience is required.(Pass/Fail)
