EDU 5642 Thesis and Capstone Proposal Development for Special Education and Inclusive Classrooms in Adolescent Education

In preparation of the thesis capstone project, students learn how to develop a research proposal outlining all aspects of the planned work. The proposals will be discussed  in research seminars. The course aims at enhancing the students' capacity to plan independent research and to communicate this in a research proposal and orally to the academic community. Upon completing the course, students will be able to distinguish between qualitative and quantitative methodologies, identify the relevant theories for their line of research, articulate their topic and author a proposal. Both whole class instruction and individual consultations with the instructor will be scheduled.
