EDU 5482 Pre-Student Teaching Childhood/TESOL PK-12 Field Experiences in Inclusive Classrooms (30 Hrs General Ed 1-6; 30 Hrs TESOL PK-12, 6 Seminars)
The Pre-Student Teaching field experience must be completed the semester PRIOR to Student Teaching. This field experience will provide teacher candidates observations and supervised experiences in a classroom in the specific area of childhood/TESOL for which the teacher candidate is seeking initial duel certification. Teaching experiences in all content areas normally taught in the childhood/TESOL classrooms with diverse student populations will be provided as well as opportunities for a gradual increase in the teacher candidate’s responsibilities in the classroom. Childhood/TESOL teacher candidates will be under the supervision of certified cooperating teachers, as well as a Molloy University Field Supervisor. Evaluations will be based on field performance. Successful completion of the Pre-Student Teaching experience is required before teacher candidates are permitted to student teach. A seventy hour field experience is required. (Pass/Fail)
